Picture of an Episode II prop?
Comments (0) AICN has just posted a spy report from Fox Studios Australia. They have a picture which is supposed to be an Episode II prop. Looks like one, though you never can tell.

What could it be? A speeder? A starship? A new alien life-form?

Happy Birthday George Lucas!
George Lucas turns 56 today. What better way to celebrate it than with the man who will bring balance to the force himself; Hayden Christensen!

Happy Birthday George!

Hayden's first interview as Anakin
A short interview and an very detailed article on Christensen's casting as Anakin at JAM! Showbiz. The article is about the impact of his casting on his friends and on his outlook on things. The article also has a lot of stuff on the future and past of the character (Anakin Skywalker). A very good article to say the least.

In the phone interview they conducted, this is what transpired:

"I think it got out, you know, before the official word," the 19-year-old from Thornhill understated last night, after Lucasfilm ended rampant speculation by announcing that Christensen will indeed play Anakin Skywalker in the next two Star Wars films.

"I had this great secret I was so excited about, but I couldn't tell anybody," Christensen said in a phone interview from L.A. "So I mean, I was always walking around with this big smile on my face and everyone was like, 'So, why are you so happy?' I was like, 'Yeaah, you'll find out soon enough.' "

Everyone's favorite Wookie in Episode II?
Chewbacca in the prequels? Unlikely as it seems, if the source TheForce.net is quoting has any merit, there are solid plans!

TheForce.net's source has provided them with these three quotes (with sound clips!:

"They have said if and when they do use him, that they can't digitalize him, because they can get a certain amount of character, but they can't get the true character doing it that way."

"He's two-hundred years old so he will fit nicely into (episodes) Two and Three."

"So I think I've done pretty well, to do three, and there's a possibility to do two more, either two or three, so we'll just have to wait and see what happens."

Don't take it too seriously folks, but it definitely sounds good. And it's like Santa Claus; it's something you want to believe. Right? Read TF.n's article here.

IT'S OFFICIAL: Hayden Christensen is Anakin Skywalker
So much for my speculation an hour ago! It's official and for all to see on the Official Site here.

This is what the man himself had to say: "I was just waking up and my roommate walked in and handed me the phone and it was my agent and manager, and they were pretty excited, so I knew as soon as I got on the phone," Christensen said. "I walked outside just stunned and in disbelief. I called my mom first thing, and my roommate started blaring the Star Wars soundtrack in the background. I didn't want to tell my mom right off, but of course she heard the music and started flipping out," he laughed.

"I'm looking forward to working with Hayden," Lucas said. "He did a great screen test with Natalie last weekend. He is very talented, has a great command of his craft, and I know that he has the physical and emotional attributes to play Anakin Skywalker at perhaps the most complex stage of Anakin's life."

"I couldn't be happier about the selection of Hayden," McCallum said. "He is a wonderful actor and has a great intensity. And I know we're in for some really great scenes between Natalie and Hayden."

Ladies and Gentlemen, we have a winner.

Episode II on the Official Site!
Regular contributor Jawatronic chimes in with this little info. The Official Site has put in a little update on their Episode II page (you didn't know they had one?).

It has the two Neimoidians, Nute Gunray and Rune Haako, with Gunray saying "No need to report anything untill we have something to report"!

They don't have anything to report? There are more things in heaven and earth...

'Lucas in Love' outsells TPM at Amazon!
The nine-minute short film parody ''George Lucas in Love'' is outselling Lucas' ``Star Wars: Episode 1 -- The Phantom Menace'' on Amazon.com.

Hayden's agent says official word in 3 days
This is off the Canadian newspaper, The Globe and Mail; it says "Although Star Wars producer George Lucas has yet to officially announce Hayden Christensen's starring part, the 19-year-old's Los Angeles manager confirmed the deal last night. Diana Larkin said the announcement will be made in about three days."

Here's the full story.

That's weird, I thought the fact that Larkin confirmed it is an announcement in itself! Anyways, 3 days from today means Sunday. My guess in Monday; nobody works on Sunday, not even George Lucas.
