the Star Wars Encyclopedia Mon Mothma | Lando
Calrissian | Wedge Antilles played by Caroline Blakiston Inspirational and committed to the cause
of freedom in the galaxy, Senator Mon Mothma becomes the conscience as well as
the leader of the Rebel Alliance. As a representative in the Galactic Senate,
she was one of the youngest members ever elected. She served with vigor and
integrity, and was a leader of those forces opposed to the growing power of Senator
Palpatine. After Mothma's secret involvement with the Rebellion was
discovered, only a tip from Bail Organa allowed her
to escape from Coruscant just ahead of the Imperial secret police.
played by Billy Dee Williams A soldier-of-fortune and a high-stakes player, Lando Calrissian has long had a love-hate relationship with Han Solo. The suave Calrissian owned the Millennium Falcon before losing it to Han in a game of sabacc. But not long after, he won something of great value in another sabacc game: Bespin's Cloud City, where he took over as Baron Administrator. Lando has proven surprisingly adept at running the Tibanna gas mining colony as a businessman. Lando's luck seems to run out with a visit by Darth Vader, who uses him against his will to spring a trap for Luke Skywalker. Vader entombs Solo in carbonite and hands him over to bounty hunter Boba Fett. Finally convinced that the Empire will never leave his city alone, Calrissian orders the evacuation of Cloud City and fights back against Imperial forces, later helping to rescue a near-dead Skywalker from the very bottom of the floating city in the clouds. Given the rank of General in the Alliance forces for past performance, especially at the Battle of Tanaab, Calrissian finally has a chance to fully redeem himself by piloting the Falcon for an a last-ditch assault against the second Death Star battle station in the Battle of Endor. Here is the sound clip of Han saving Lando's life at the Sarlacc Pit in Episode vi. played by Dennis Lawson Wedge Antilles is probably one of the most under-rated character of the Star Wars trilogy. Featuring in two of the three movies he is a key figure in destroying Death Star I as well as Death Star II. It is amazing how he is left out in most accounts of the battles. He was also a key figure in delaying the Imperial attack of the Rebel Base at Hoth. He implemented Luke Skywalker's idea of using the harpoon on the snowspeeder to sort of, 'trip' the AT-AT Walkers. He succeeded as he always does; and the evacuation of Echo Base was successful. After the destruction of the Death Star I, Wedge was given command of his own fleet. He is supposed to be proficient in ship design as well. Is there a character you want to know about, or need a picture of that you can't find listed here?
